Ground Turkey Chilli


1½ pounds ground turkey meat
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium bell pepper, chopped
2 Tablespoons oil
1 6oz can tomato paste
2 8oz cans tomoto sauce
1 14oz can sliced, stewed tomatoes
1 14oz can red kidney beans
5 Tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
¼ teaspoon cumin seeds, crushed OR
½ teaspoon cumin powder salt and pepper to taste


Allow your skillet to get very hot and saute' ground turkey meat with NO oil. While turkey is cooking season with 1 Tablespoon chili powder, granulated garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Put seasoned turkey meat in large Dutch oven and set aside. Heat same skillet (do not wash) and add 2 Tablespoons oil. Saute onion for 3 minutes, add bell pepper and saute' for 3 more minutes. Add to turkey. Add all tomato products, remaining chili powder, cumin and salt pepper to taste. Stir completely and simmer on low heat for 30 mintues. Add kidney beans, check and adjust seasonings to your taste, simmer and stir occasionally for 30 minutes more. Serve with chili condiments of sour cream, chopped green onions, grated cheddar cheese, macaroni or oyster crackers
