Cheddar Cheese Pepper Bread

1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1-8 ounce container plain yogurt
1 stick butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Preheat oven to 375° F. Combine flours, wheat germ, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Stir in cheese. Blend together yogurt, melted butter and eggs. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Spoon batter into buttered and floured 9X5 inch loaf pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted wooden skewer comes out clean. Cool in loaf pan for ten minutes before turning out. Serve bread warm or toasted. Makes 1 loaf. This recipe also makes great drop biscuits.
